DAY 1 :
Meet at your ANKARA hotel, or upon early morning arrival
of your flight at ANKARA Airport. Visit the Museum of Anatolian
Civilizations (the Hittite Museum, which is housed in a restored
Caravanserai), and “Anitkabir”, the Mausoleum of Kemal Ataturk, the
founder of modern Turkey. After lunch, proceed to CAPPADOCIA, where
nature has scoured surrealistic moonscape shapes, and where during the
9th Century the early Christians built underground churches and
cities, extending several stories below ground. Dinner and overnight
in CAPPADOCIA.( L, D )
DAY 2 :
Full day touring in
CAPPADOCIA; first visit the fascinating GOREME Open-Air-Museum with
its fairy chimneys and dozens of cave churches decorated with frescoes
depicting various scenes from the Bible, see the PIGEON Valley and the
natural Citadel of UCHISAR. Then, visit the ZELVE Valley and the
pottery town AVANOS,
with opportunity to shop for local
handicrafts like carpets, ceramics, tiles, and pottery. Dinner and
overnight in CAPPADOCIA. (

DAY 3 :
After breakfast, proceed to
visit the underground city of KAYMAKLI (built by the early Christians
to evade invading armies). Then, visit the Seljuk period Agzikarahan
Caravanserai located on the Ancient Silk Road, on the way to ANKARA.
Transfer to your hotel in Ankara, or to the Ankara Airport for your
evening flight for the continuation of your trip in Turkey.
