Visit the ANATOLIAN CIVILIZATIONS MUSEUM  (which is housed in a restored caravanserai,  displaying numerous remnants from the Stone Age, Neolithic Age, Hattis, Hittites, Urartians, Phrygians and many other civilizations ), CITADEL of ANKARA, and “ANITKABIR”, the MAUSOLEUM of ATATURK ( the burial place of the national hero who founded the modern Turkish Republic ). Return to your hotel.

Early departure from your hotel in Ankara, for about 3 hours of driving to YAZILIKAYA to see the “open air sanctuary” as the sun light comes on the bas-reliefs. Then proceed to HATTUSAS, famous for the cuneiform tablets, and the capital city of Hittites. Visit the Lion’s Gate, the King’s Tomb, the Citadel, the Tunnel, and the Grand Temple. Then drive back to your Ankara Hotel or the Ankara Airport for your departure.

“2-DAY CAPPADOCIA TOUR”

DAY 1:  Meet at your ANKARA hotel, or upon early morning arrival of your flight at ANKARA  Airport. Drive to Cappadocia along the picturesque Salt Lake.  Visit the 13th Century  (Seljuk period)  Agzikarahan Caravanserai on the ancient Silk Road, continue to the Kaymakli Underground City, where Christians used to hide from the  invading armies during the 9th, 10th and 11th Centuries. You will literally walk on the footsteps of the early Christians. After visiting Pigeon Valley, proceed for dinner and overnight at your First-Class Hotel in Cappadocia.( L, D )

DAY 2:   After enjoying your buffet breakfast at the hotel, continue touring the Cappadocia region to see the unique lunar landscape of the region where the wind and weather have eroded the soft volcanic rock, leaving pillars, cones and “Fairy Chimneys”. See the natural Citadel of Uchisar, then proceed through Avcilar Valley to the Goreme Open-Air- Museum and visit the early Christian Churches decorated with unique frescoes with various scenes from the Bible. After lunch, tour the most interesting Zelve Valley, then visit the pottery town  Avanos, with some opportunity to shop for local handicrafts ( like carpet, onyx, pottery, ceramics, and tiles ). Thereafter, transfer  to your hotel in Ankara, or to the Ankara Airport for your evening flight.( B, L )
